Video Premiere of IGES's Making Our Cities Climate Sensitive video series: on overcoming flooding in the Philippines and the development of a “participatory watershed land-use management approach”

Making Our Cities Climate Sensitive is a two-part video series that explores the work of IGES and partners at the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB) to develop an innovative approach to address the increasing risks from flooding in the Philippines.

The first video, Overcoming Floods in the Philippines: A story of climate change adaptation and mitigation, is a documentary-style video that explores the issue of flooding in the four municipalities of the Silang-Santa Rosa watershed of the Philippines, and highlights efforts by local governments to tackle this challenge.

The second video, Participatory Watershed Land-use Management Approach: Interfacing science, policy and participation for effective decision-making, is an instructional video introducing an innovative approach to tackle the problem by employing a systematic process using scenario analysis and risk assessment and engaging local stakeholders to reduce this imminent risk and avoid CO2 emissions.
