Achieving a Net-Zero Future in Asia: From Individual Innovation to Societal Transformation

As the latest report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) shows, net-zero transformation becomes possible when changes are catalysed across multiple scales—from individual lifestyle changes, to sector-specific policies, and then to broader social systems and policymaking institutions. This session will discuss various enabling factors that can accelerate transition to a Net-Zero society and result in sustainable transformation in Asia. First, a framing presentation will be made based upon IGES’ research work, followed by an outline of some key questions. An invited panel of experts will then respond to the questions before opening the floor to the audience for further discussion.
